How Science Can Make us Live Even After Death!

Can human be ever immortal? If soul never dies then why can’t it exist even after body has expired? Since centuries scientists have been trying to discover ways to live long and even be immortal. Many experiments have been carried to make the person alive after death. With no success yet science is still working on alternatives to keep persons existence alive even after the death. Through below researches science keep the possibility alive to make person’s brain live even after death of the person.


1.     Body Transplant 

A body transplant is also known as brain or head transplant as in this procedure the head or brain is transplanted into the body of another organism through the extreme complex surgical operation. The purpose is to keep the person’s brain alive whereas he receives another body from the donor. Experimentation in animals began in the early 1900s. As of 2020, no lasting successes have been achieved.

This experiment may be far from the reality as nobody knows about the possibility of this.


2.     Mind Upload

This may eventually happen for real. Your body may die, your brain may die, but the information in your mind and pattern to think to any situation can be exported and stored on a digital device. Your mind will be a file in a hard disk, in a USB stick, or in the cloud. Then you can keep living through a computer program that transforms the structure of that file in a way that is similar to the one in which electrical stimuli transform the structure of your brain.

However learning new things and changes in mind based on new situation would remain limitations in this technology.  We may never know the answer from a computer program uploaded with our memory without consciousness as it relies on the same set of memories and phenomena that you can find in a human brain.

Hence this technology is most likely to be partially successful instead of full transformation of brain.


3.     Cryonics

Cryonics may seem very sci-fi, but it already exists. It happened when people in Ancient Egypt died, they were mummified – this was a long process of preserving the body, and designing a coffin with painted pictures and writing. It was believed that one day soul would enter the mummified body and the person can again be alive.  

Even in today’s world there are companies that freeze complete body as soon as person dies, so that he can be brought back to life when technology and medicine will be advanced enough.

Here’s a list of some celebrities that got frozen (James Bedford, John Henry Williams, Ted Williams, FM-2030, Dick Clair Jones), and some that are currently alive and want to be frozen (Larry King, Seth McFarlane, Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton).

The technology to freeze people is not perfect yet, and there can be irreversible damages that will never be fixed, but it’s improving every year. Maybe cryonics won’t work. Maybe people who are currently frozen have been irreversibly damaged.


4.     Cloning

Cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy (or clone) of a human. Many animals have been cloned so far but experiment on human is yet far from the success.

As this concept is a way to make artificial human cloning of a person instead of natural reproduction system person’s existence in form of cloning can be possible even after his death.

On the other hand, this research procedure can be painful for animal and often result in mental and physical damage. Another ethic problem is those clones created for medical purpose have very poor life as tests are constantly being conducted on them.


5.     Artificial General Intelligent Robots

In Simple words, this should be considered advanced technology to “Mind Upload”. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is an AI that, like humans, can learn anything, not just one specific task like current AIs.

Imagine, ASI is created with your brain, it has your memory, experiences and pattern of thinking; it will recursively improve itself by becoming more intelligent. At some point, it will be an Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), a being so smart that we would be like ants to it.

As this concept is still in experiment phase some people believe that an AGI can never be created because there is “something” about the human mind that can’t be replicated.

From above examples, some may never be possible but some are feasible and science seems to change these experiments soon into reality. We still need to wait and watch.
