Working from the office has a big advantage of personal interaction with colleagues, boss, clients and vendors. In this process, many things come to experiences and you learn them whereas working from home is a setback to this opportunity.

Just imagine, a firm hired employees through campus selection just before the COVID-19 scenario. At the beginning of the career, these people had to face lockdown and later work from home. Being around family is sometimes adverse as unexpected disturbance may distract you during work or meetings. Being professional and choosing priority upon the criticality of the situation would be wise in such a situation. Obviously, if it is critical then even the angriest boss can excuse you however repeated situations may hamper your professionalism and reputation.


6. Lack of Face to Face Interactions May Cause a Communication Gap

Communication gaps are prone to happen due to communication from the remote. Sometimes it may be misunderstood or making other people understand the complex idea may not be possible efficiently. The advantage of face to face meetings is you can read one’s facial expression and body language which helps to understand someone better or even other person’s like client’s or vendor’s intentions can be realized. Better decision-making is possible with face-to-face interaction.


7. Slow Career Growth

COVID-19 has brought all of us into the recession. Apart from this, the working atmosphere for many people may not be suitable as their hard work might not be acknowledged as it should have been. Career growth for the majority of employees may remain slower than normal situation.


8. Team Work Less Productive

Teamwork is mainly dependent on communication, ideas and dedication. The communication gap or weak area in the team may impact the performance of the whole team. Since direct interaction doesn’t take place communication becomes a week, physical work is not as effective as it could happen to work together in physical presence.


9. Dependent on Technology for Communication and Work

Since the work from home scenario is completely dependent on technology any kind of disturbance in technology like slow or no internet or server down on portal may hamper the work. Teamwork has more risk as one person being offline may kill other’s time. Complexity or limitations in technology may require extra time to resolve.


10. Few Boss May Doubt and Spy on You

Obviously, this very unusual situation but the fact is many bosses have a tendency to doubt their employees’ sincerity. They may think that employees are doing their personal work during working hours and not giving their 100% dedication to work. Many bosses spy on their employees by installing spying software or webcam.
